Allison has been a member of the IAWBH since 2014 and a Board member since 2022. She was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, in 2011. Since that time she has worked across the practice areas of employment and industrial law, work health and safety, human rights and discrimination, worker’s compensation, and administrative law, within the private, community legal, and government sectors, as well as for industry and unions. She was called to the independent South Australian bar in 2022. Allison is an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Canberra Law School and has worked as a sessional and tenured legal academic at the University of Canberra and Charles Sturt University variously teaching//tutoring in employment, administrative and criminal law, ADR, and clinical legal education. In 2017, she established a multidisciplinary pro bono law clinic at UC in partnership with health professionals and other legal academics and lawyers to provide hands-on practice legal experience to law students and access to justice to vulnerable clients. Allison is also an occupational health and safety consultant who provides expert reports focusing on psychosocial safety at work, including in respect of workplace violence, bullying, harassment and discrimination. Allison completed her PhD in Law on The Silence of Workplace Abuse in 2019.
