Nils Magerøy

I was born in Norway in 1954 and became a MD in 1980. I have worked many years within general practice and palliative care. I took my PhD in 2009 at the University of Bergen based on the thesis “Health among Navy personnel - A cross-sectional study in the Royal Norwegian Navy”. Since 2007 I have been an associated member of the Bergen Bullying Research Group. Since 2010 I have been a board member of the International Association on Workplace Bullying & Harassment (IAWBH) and have also for a period been convenor for the Therapist SIG in the period 2010 – 2012.

At present I am unit leader of Jobbfast – Clinical unit for targets of bullying and harassment at work established in 2011. This outpatient unit is located at the Department of Occupational Medicine, Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, Norway. The clinic is research based and established to examine, treat and rehabilitate patients with reduced health secondary to psychosocial strain at work; with a special attention to bullying and harassment.
